Wellington Grammar School: the Farewell Event
A last chance for Old Boys to say "Goodbye" before the bulldozers move in.

Many Old Boys will recognise the "Beak" from my time in the Sixties.
Boys from earlier eras have all been keen to mention a certain Mr. J. "Whacker" Thorpe, who was, by all accounts, legendary, a tyrant and a man who could "whack"!
What Next?
I've mentioned elsewhere that I'll shortly be courting more media coverage, as well as talking with the current school's Principal and the L.E.A.
It's important that our "event" is not in any way chaotic, as many reunions are, apparently.
Many OBs have written to me suggesting there should be an initial meeting to establish some structure. I tend to agree with that.
We're not going down the route of formal ceremony! Informality will be the key, and on the next page I've listed some of the ideas suggested so far. It would be helpful if you could take a look at them and let me know your thoughts, along with any ideas you may have.
There has now been an informal initial meeting to discuss how the event may best be shaped.
